Professional Information

Kate Wu advises on corporate and commercial matters, financial regulation, and cross-border investment. Her academic training spans both law and public policy, giving her an integrated view of how regulatory frameworks operate in practice — and how they affect business decisions.

Before joining Innovatus Law, Kate practised at LCS & Partners (協合國際法律事務所) and Lee, Tsai & Partners (理慈國際科技法律事務所), two of Taiwan’s established commercial law firms, where she gained broad experience across corporate transactions, regulatory matters, and commercial disputes. During her graduate studies, she also served as a Legal Specialist Intern at Alcon’s Taiwan office, working on corporate legal and compliance matters and gaining direct familiarity with the legal operations of a multinational corporation.

Kate holds an LL.M. (Criminal Law) and a Bachelor of Laws — both from National Taiwan University, where she double-majored in Political Science. Her master’s thesis examined the legal characterization and regulatory design for P2P lending platforms under Article 29-1 of the Banking Act, a subject that sits at the intersection of financial regulation and emerging technology. She has a particular interest in fintech regulatory frameworks and the compliance challenges facing new financial platform models.

With additional training in criminal law, Kate is well placed to advise on risk and compliance issues that arise when corporate operations and financial activities intersect with regulatory enforcement.
